Now for a whole new art form – latte art. Created by a Japanese barista called Kazuki Yamamoto, these remarkable works are made using nothing but the ingredients common to such beverages, namely espresso and foamed milk…
“And while i’m at it, there’s also a cat in my coffee! And a bunch of birds, and some small children! What kind of joint are you guys running here!?!?”
Yamamoto’s 2d work is impressive enough but it’s the 3d works, the sculptures, that really catch the eye — no plaster of Paris is involved, insists the artist.
Here we have a depiction of a giraffe-like animal (most likely a giraffe) relaxing in what appears to be a hot-tub of some sort…
And here’s a very naughty cat and what looks like bad news for a pair of Koi Carp…
Here’s a representation of, er, whatever this thing is… a pool of chocolate pudding?… a mud monster from outer space?… And i don’t even want to think about what’s causing those bubbles, it would certainly explain the mischievous smile on his face.
And of course, my favorite amongst the sculptures, Charles Schultz’ beloved Snoopy, lying on his belly and probably wondering why that round headed kid hasn’t brought him his supper yet…
The talented Mr. Yamamoto’s twitter page, where he regularly posts pictures of his work, is here.
